【Animal Modeling】-Analysis of the effect of portal hypertension on serum endotoxin and intestinal mucosa in rats

Objective: How to study the effect of portal hypertension on rat serum endotoxin and intestinal mucosa?

Method: 16 rats were selected and divided into blank control group (4 rats) and model group (3d group→7d group→10d group). , 4 rats in each group), the model group established a partial portal vein ligation model, and collected rat blood, jejunum, ileum and colon from 3d-7d-10d. The ELISA method was used to detect the serum endotoxin content and observe the changes of endotoxin. Intestinal tissues were collected from various parts of each group for HE staining, and observed and analyzed histopathologically.

Result: Did the rats in the model group successfully establish a partial portal vein ligation model? The serum endotoxin results at three different time points were compared with the normal control group. Is there a significant difference between the two intestines? After modeling for 3 days, no intestinal segment was damaged. After 7 days of modeling, each intestinal segment had local swelling and local intestinal villi swelling in the mucosal layer on the 3rd day, and the epithelial cells were connected with the lamina propria, which was relaxed; the model was 10d intestinal mucosa. Are the layers and intrinsic layers more obvious than 3d and 7d?

Conclusion: Liver function is normal, portal hypertension can cause intestinal mucosa in a short time. Despite damage, the endotoxin produced by the intestine will not exceed the processing capacity of the liver and serum endotoxin will increase?
