Animal experiment: Protective effect of Danggui Buxue Decoction on radiation-damaged mice

Objective: To observe the protective effect of Danggui Buxue Decoction on mice irradiated by 60C0-γ rays.

Methods: The experimental mice were randomly divided into 5 groups (normal control group, model group, Danggui Buxue Decoction low, medium and high dose groups), and 60C0-γ radiation source was used to irradiate mice in each group except the normal control group to establish In the radiation injury model, the number of peripheral blood neutrophils (NEUT), bone marrow nucleated cells (BMC), serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and serum malondialdehyde (MDA) content were measured in each group of mice.

Results: The NEUT, BMC and SOD activities of radiation-damaged mice were significantly reduced (P<0.01), and the MDA content increased (P<0.01). Danggui Buxue Decoction can increase the activity of NEUT, BMC and SOD and reduce the content of MDA after radiation injury in mice, and the high-dose Danggui Buxue Decoction group has better protective effect on radiation-damaged mice (P<0.01).

Conclusion: Danggui Buxue Decoction has a protective effect on the ionization damage of irradiated mice, and it is related to the dose.
