How to install water supply and drainage for laboratory animal facilities?

  (1) Water supply

  1. The drinking water quota for laboratory animals must meet the drinking water requirements for laboratory animals.

  2. Ordinary veterinary drinking water must meet the requirements of the current national standard "Drinking Water Hygiene Standard" GB5749.

  3. The water used in the purification zone of the barrier and isolated environmental facilities meets the sterility requirements.

  4. The main water supply pipe in the manufacturing area (experimental area) of the barrier environment facility must be located in the technical mezzanine. Reliable sealing measures must be taken on the wall where the pipeline passes through the purification zone. If condensation may form on the outside of the pipeline, effective anti-condensation measures should be taken.

  5. The water supply pipelines and fittings in the purification zone of barrier environment facilities should be selected from rust-proof, corrosion-resistant, convenient and reliable pipelines.

  (two) drainage

  1. Septic tanks should be installed to discharge the production and experimental areas of large-scale laboratory animal facilities.

  2. Laboratory animal production wastewater and laboratory animal laboratory facilities should be installed separately from other domestic wastewater.

  3. The diameter of the drain pipe of laboratory animal facilities (such as rabbits and sheep) must be DN150 or larger.

  4. It is recommended not to cross the drain riser in the purification zone of the barrier environment facility. The drain pipe should be made of rust-proof and corrosion-resistant pipes.

  5. The floor drain in the purification zone of the barrier environment equipment will be closed.
