Effect of intrauterine injection of absolute ethanol on the estrous cycle of mice

Objective: To investigate the effect of intrauterine injection of absolute ethanol on the estrous cycle of mice.

Methods: Twenty mice with regular estrus period were selected by vaginal exfoliated cell staining method, and absolute ethanol was injected into the uterine cavity. The estrus period was measured daily during the first postoperative estrus cycle, and 10 mice were randomly selected for the second estrus cycle. Test every 2 h to observe the degree of change in the estrous cycle.

Result: The estrus cycle of the experimental mice was greatly prolonged after intrauterine injection of absolute ethanol, and the estrus, preestrus and other phases were disordered to different degrees.

Conclusion: This experiment provides a certain experimental basis for the clinical use of anhydrous ethanol by observing the disorder of the estrus cycle of mice after the uterus is damaged by absolute ethanol.
