1. A circular fire lane should be set up around the newly built experimental animal facility, or a fire lane should be set along the two long sides of the building. The fire resistance rating of barrier environment facilities shall not be lower than Class II, or be installed in buildings with a fire resistance rating of not lower than Class II.
2. Partition walls with fire separation function and requiring a fire resistance limit value greater than 0.75h should be built to the bottom of the beam and slab without leaving gaps. For areas with large ceiling space in the production area of barrier environment facilities (experimental area), the ceiling decoration materials should be non-combustible materials, and the fire resistance rating of the ceiling should not be less than 0.5h.
3. Fire-fighting facilities may not be provided in the ceiling of the experimental animal facility production area (experimental area). No automatic sprinkler system should be installed in the purification area of barrier environment facilities, and other fire-fighting measures should be taken as needed. The experimental animal facility should be equipped with a fire hydrant system, and it should ensure that the full water column of the two water guns reaches any part at the same time.
4. The barrier environment facilities should be equipped with fire accident lighting. The evacuation walkways and evacuation doors of barrier environment facilities shall be provided with lighted evacuation indication signs. When a battery is used as a backup power source for the fire accident lighting and evacuation indication signs, the continuous power supply time of the battery should not be less than 20min. The barrier environment facilities should be equipped with automatic fire alarm devices. The number of safety exits in the barrier environmental facility purification zone with an area larger than 50 square meters should not be less than two, and one of the safety exits can be sealed with fixed tempered glass. The opening direction of the evacuation passage door in the purification zone of the barrier environment facility can be determined according to the functional characteristics of the area.
