Effects of noise pollution on blood hormones and Hsp-70 levels in rats

Objective: To investigate the effects of noise pollution on the blood hormone levels and heat shock protein-70 (Hsp-70) expression in rats.

Method: 40 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group (normally raised) and experimental group (divided into three groups of 35, 65, and 85 dB), with 10 animals in each group. One stimulation per day, each stimulation for 30 minutes, continuous Stimulate for 20 days. On the 21st day, blood was collected and the levels of norepinephrine (NA), testosterone (T), dopamine (DA) and Hsp-70 in the blood were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Results: The ELISA method found that the weight of the experimental group (35, 65, 85dB group) was reduced by 23.45%, 30.13%, 35.64%, and the T and DA levels were reduced by 9.12%, 20.06%, 37.99%, respectively, compared with the control group. And 15.49%, 18.31%, 24.88%; blood NA and Hsp-70 levels increased by 35.08%, 171.52%, 197.86% and 39.34%, 195.09%, 285.25%, respectively, the differences were significant (all P<0.01) 。

Conclusion: Noise pollution can significantly affect the blood hormone levels and the expression of heat shock protein-70 in rats.
