Objective: To observe and identify the skin symptoms of elderly systemic lupus erythematosus (TC) mice to explore whether it can be used as a mouse model for the study of cutaneous lupus.
Method: Observe the age at which skin symptoms of TC mice appear, compare the skin symptoms of mice of the same age and C57BL/6 mice, ELISA method detects mouse serum anti-dsDNA antibodies and anti-ANA antibodies, HE staining detects mouse skin pathological symptoms. Results: Two-thirds of TC mice showed hair loss and skin ulceration. The lesions first occurred at 40 weeks of age. The serum anti-dsDNA antibody and anti-ANA antibody titers of lupus mice with skin lesions were significantly higher than C57BL/6 Mice (P<0.05); HE staining results showed that lupus mice lacked the stratum corneum, the epithelial layer was interrupted, and a large number of lymphocytes infiltrated the dermis.
Conclusion: Lupus mice will have skin lesions after 40 weeks, which shows that the mice can be used as a disease model for the study of chronic cutaneous lupus.
