【Animal Modeling】-Formaldehyde-induced rabbit sinus node injury model

Objective: To establish a rabbit model of paranasal sinus nodules injury induced by formaldehyde.

Method: Use 40% formaldehyde solution to destroy rabbit sinus nodules, detect heart rhythm, sinus conduction time, sinus node recovery time, modify sinus node recovery time and other indicators, various damage methods, damage degree, damage duration, etc., and use positive drugs Verify the model.

Result: (1) Damage method: The wet compression method can control the degree of damage over time and area. The instillation method is less traumatic, and the amount of formaldehyde can be used to control the degree of damage, but it is more likely to cause tissue damage around the sinus node. (2) Damage degree and maintenance time: If the heart rate drop rate is less than 30% of the base heart rate, the maintenance time of the model is less than 7 days. When the basal heart rate drops from 30% to 60%, the retention time of the model can reach 70 days. When the heart rate drops more than 60% of the basal heart rate, the mortality rate of the model animal is relatively high. (3) Active drug verification: Both Atropin and simbao pills can increase the heart rate of the sinus nodules injury model and improve the function of the sinus nodules.

Conclusion: The rabbit sinus nodules injury model established by the formaldehyde wet pressure method is more reliable than the drip method. The degree of damage should be controlled within 30% to 60% of the basal heart rate through the heart rate reduction rate. The model was maintained for a long time and the animal mortality was low.
