Objective: To establish a rat model of ulcerative colitis with yang deficiency of the spleen and kidney.
Method: The UC animal model of spleen and kidney deficiency established by administering Changhuang Decoction, intramuscular injection of hydrocortisone, TNBS (2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid) and ethanol enema was completed. Sixty rats were randomly divided into the blank group, the 7, 14 and 21 d groups of UC model of spleen and kidney yang deficiency. Enzyme-linked immunoassay was used to detect the FT3, FT4 and T content in the serum of rats in each group.
Results: The serum FT3, FT4 and T levels of the UC model group of spleen kidney and kidney deficiency UC model group were lower on day 7, 14 and 21 compared with the blank group (P\u003c0.05), especially the 21d group was significantly different.
Conclusion: FT3, FT4 and T are sensitive indicators of spleen and kidney positive deficiency. The detection of serum FT3, FT4, T can better prove the deficiency of spleen and kidney yang. This proves that an animal model of UC with lack of positive spleen and kidney has been successfully constructed.
