【Animal Modeling】-Pigs to build a skull defect model

Objective: To compare the anesthesia effects of three anesthesia methods in the experiment of constructing and repairing small piglet skull defects, and to explore the best anesthesia plan that is simple, safe and effective.

Method: 30 Guizhou miniature piglets (half male and half) were randomly divided into 3 groups, each with 10 piglets. Group A was injected intramuscularly with a mixture of midazolam and ketamine, and group B was injected intramuscularly. Mianning II injection anesthesia; Group C midazolam combined with ketamine, intramuscular injection anesthesia combined with Lumiening II. The effective time of anesthesia, the maintenance time of the first anesthesia, the maintenance time of the first additional drug anesthesia, the maintenance time of the second additional drug anesthesia, recovery time, the number of anesthetics during the additional operation, the cumulative amount of anesthetics, by comparison Animal mortality and postoperative side effects.

Result: The effective time of group B is longer than that of groups A and C (P<0.05). The maintenance time of the first anesthesia, the first additional drug anesthesia and the second additional drug anesthesia in group C were significantly longer than those of group A. Group B (P<0.05); The recovery time of groups A and C was significantly shorter than that of group B (P<0.05); the number of additional anesthetics, the total dose of drugs, postoperative adverse reaction rate and mortality were significant Lower than Group A. , Group B (P<0.05).

Conclusion: The combination of midazolam and ketamine, Lumianning II and Lumianning II is easy to operate, controllable depth of anesthesia, and high safety. It is very suitable for surgical experiments in piglets undergoing long-term operations.
