Objective: To observe the protective effect of Danggui Buxue Decoction on mice irradiated with 60C0-γ rays.
Method: The experimental mice were randomly divided into 5 groups (normal control group, model group, Danggui Buxue Decoction low, medium and high dose groups), and 60C0-γ radiation source was used to exclude the normal control group. Irradiate mice in each group. A radiation injury model was established and the number of peripheral blood neutrophils (NEUT) in each group of mice, bone marrow nucleated cells (BMC), serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and serum malondialdehyde (MDA) content determined .
Result: NEUT, BMC and SOD activities of radiation-damaged mice were significantly reduced (P <u003c0.01), and MDA content increased (P <u003c0.01). Danggui Buxue Decoction can increase NEUT, BMC, SOD activity and reduce MDA content in mice after radiation injury. In addition, the high-dose Danggui Buxue Decoction group has a better protective effect on radiation-damaged mice (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Danggui Buxue Decoction has a protective effect on ionization damage in irradiated mice, and it is related to the dose.
