【Animal Modeling】-The effect of maca extract on exercise endurance and blood hormone levels in rats

Purpose: To study the changes of metabolic pathways during immunosuppression of cyclophosphamide in mice by metabolomics methods.

Method: Use flow cytometry to understand changes in immune cells, and build a partial least squares model with multiple results to make decisions. Use the projection (VIP) parameters of the partial least squares model to screen biomarkers that may be of different importance, determine the difference of biotransformers through statistical analysis, and develop a software system for small molecule compounds with the help of metabolomics to quickly identify And analysis. Database search and calculation finally identified 9 different metabolites, and analyzed 3 different metabolic pathways through the results of pathway enrichment.

Result: Cyclophosphamide is the normal biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids in the human body, mitochondrial fatty acid metabolism, glycerophospholipid metabolism, steroid hormone biosynthesis, arachidonic acid metabolism, fatty acid metabolism, pyrimidine biosynthesis and other metabolic pathways. It has obvious effects. Conclusion: In the normal and experimental groups, the most important metabolic pathways affected by cyclophosphamide are arachidonic acid metabolism, glycerophospholipid metabolism and pyrimidine metabolism. Objective: To study the effects of maca extract on exercise endurance and blood hormone levels. Method: Use circulating water to swim freely, and give Wistar rats 2.0, 4.0, 8.0 g/(kg?bw) maca extract for 15 days. On day 16, the blood levels of norepinephrine (NA), estradiol (E2) and testosterone (T) were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).

Result: After administering Maca extract 2.0, 4.0, 8.0g/(kg?bw) for 15 days, the swimming time and the total swimming time until sinking were prolonged by 32.51%, 60.04%, 106.52% and 16.99%, respectively. Compared with the pure swimming group, the pure swimming group had 56.50%, 101.73% (P<0.01) and the number of sinking decreased by 18.89%, 35.89%, and 58.06% respectively (P<0.01). ...Compared with the swimming group, the blood NA levels of rats increased by 3.30%, 6.60%, 16.50%, 42.49%, 47.05% and 60.70%, and the blood E2 levels increased by 132.83%, 102.72% and 102.72%, respectively. . .. The control group was 62.26% (P<0.01), which was 23.88%, 33.72%, and 46.95% lower than the swimming group alone. The blood T level was increased by 5.11%, 37.65%, and 123.16% compared with the control group. group. It is 28.98%, 68.92%, 173.85% higher than the swimming group alone (P<0.01).

Conclusion: Maca extract has the effect of reducing fatigue and improving sports performance.
