【Animal Modeling】-Epilepsy-like mouse primary epilepsy model

  (1) The replication method is to determine the degree of epileptic seizures of the mice before the experiment, and select animals suitable for the experiment. Place the animal on a small wooden board, gently throw it 10 to 15 cm in the air, and repeat it several times 10 to several times, which may cause seizures. This difference is due to the different starting threshold of each mouse. It is usually specified to repeatedly throw the author 80 times without sending the author. This is considered an insensitive mouse and is not used in the experiment.

  (2) Model features The epileptic seizures of epileptic mice can be divided into two stages: developmental and late developmental stages. When the mouse is hovering, it sounds suddenly. At this time, please stop hovering and observe carefully. The mouse quickly became temporarily immobile, the tail bends upwards, and then explosive epilepsy occurred. In the later stages of development, the mouse maintained the kangaroo posture, raised its tail, and raised its forelimbs. It is accompanied by imbalance, salivation and incontinence, such as vertical contracture movements, chewing activities and lateral head rotation. The entire seizure process lasts 13 to 20 seconds, and then lasts about 30 minutes of convulsive refractory seizures. At this point, the stimulation did not cause seizures.

  (3) Comparative Medicine Epilepsy-like mice are purebred mice obtained from DDY mice through 12 generations of inbreeding, and are internationally recognized genetic epilepsy models. When the front coat is stimulated, such mice can cause seizures. For example, repeated throwing, shaking and spinning in the air can cause seizures. Animals start to attack 5-8 weeks after birth, reach a peak when they are sexually mature, and last a lifetime. The seizures of epileptic mice started deep in the hippocampus and temporal lobe and spread to other parts of the brain. Seizures resemble human temporal lobe epilepsy in many ways.
