Objective: To establish a new model of stretch osteogenesis in SD rats.
Method: 40 male SD rats with right tibia osteotomy and 4 mm shortened round external fixation device for self-study. During fracture repair, an external fixator is used to restore the height of the tibia. After the operation, the healing and recovery of the osteotomy site can be observed by naked eyes, imaging and histomorphological methods.
Result: The external fixator is stable and effective after the operation, with no obvious effect. About the functional activities of rats. The tibia is highly healed and the bone is healed.
Conclusion: The experimentally established rat tibial distraction osteogenesis model is reliable, practical and reproducible.
