【Animal Modeling】-Animal Model of Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency

  Objective: To explore several methods of establishing adult growth hormone deficiency animal models, and provide a good model for experimental research and treatment of abnormal bone metabolism caused by growth hormone deficiency.

  Method: Please refer to the literature to identify and evaluate how to establish an animal model of adult growth hormone deficiency.

  Result: The animal models of adult growth hormone deficiency can be divided into three types: the animal model of natural growth hormone deficiency, the animal model of hypophysectomy and the gene knockout model.

  Conclusion: The animal models of hypophysectomy are cheap and easy to use, but there are many factors that affect them. It is not suitable to study the relationship between growth hormone and bone metabolism. Although the animal models of spontaneous growth hormone deficiency and gene knockout animal models are expensive, some growth hormone deficiencies are suitable for studying the effect of growth hormone deficiency on bone metabolism.
