【Animal Modeling】-Establishment of a long-term depression mouse model

Objective: To establish a new type of long-term depression model mouse (long-term depression model, LTD) and compare it with the general depression model.

Methods: After weaning and continuous chronic stress, LTD mice were constructed using premature mother-infant separation methods, and they were combined with chronic unpredictable wild stress (CUMS) and early life stress model (ELS) mice Make a comparison. Changes in hippocampal neurons of eGFP transgenic LTD and control mice compared with depression-like behavior changes.

Result: Compared with CUMS and ELS mice, LTD mice showed long-term stable behavioral inhibition. Tissue sections showed that the hippocampal CA1 and CA3 regions of LTD mice showed degeneration.

End: We have successfully built the LTD mouse. This model mouse can cause long-term depression-like behaviors and show long-term psychological stress.
