Objective: To feed spontaneously hypertensive rats with a high-fat diet to establish a hyperlipidemia-induced hypertensive rat model and evaluate its heart and kidney damage. This is the treatment of hyperlipidemia and hypertension.
Method: Three-week-old SHR were randomly divided into a blank control group and a model group. At the same time, normal blood pressure Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats of the same age were selected as the model control group. The blank control group and the model control group were fed a normal maintenance diet, and the model group was fed a high-fat diet to induce hypertension and hyperlipidemia in SHR. The blood pressure and body weight of each group of rats were measured regularly during the modeling period. The purpose of modeling is to measure and sacrifice the blood pressure, blood lipids and body weight of rats. Collect heart and kidney tissues and detect fiber damage.
Result: After 23 weeks of SHR high-fat diet, blood lipid levels were disturbed, and obvious pathological changes appeared in the heart and kidney organs. Myocardial hypertrophy, the wall of the interlobular artery of the kidney tissue was rebuilt obviously. The heart and kidney tissues are very fibrotic.
Conclusion: SHR can successfully establish a rat model of hypertension and hyperlipidemia after 23 weeks of high-fat diet. Its heart and kidney target organs show obvious pathological changes, similar to human hypertension with hyperlipidemia. The symptoms are similar, and it is expected to be widely used as a therapeutic agent for hypertension and hyperlipidemia.
