How does the rat model of chronic inflammatory pain induce anxiety and depression-like emotions? -Animal modeling

  Objective: To dynamically observe the changes of pain mood in rats with chronic inflammatory pain caused by Freund's complete adjuvant (CFA), and to explore the time lag in inducing anxiety and depression in rats with chronic inflammatory pain.

  Method: All experimental rats were randomly divided into a blank control group and a model control group, and CFA was injected into the sole of the model control group to establish a chronic inflammatory pain model. Dynamic observation of changes in the mechanical withdrawal threshold (PWT) of each group of rats on days 1, 3, 7, 18, and 26 before and after modeling; 28-day open field experiment (OF), 29-day elevated O maze experiment (EZM) ) Observation)), the new hood suppression test (NSF) at 30 days after modeling, the marble burial test (MBT) at 12, 20, and 31 days after modeling, and the sugar water preference test at 17, 25, and 35 days after modeling (rats Behavior changes SPT).

  Result: One day after modeling, the PWT of the model control group was significantly reduced (P0.05). Only 31 days after modeling the MBT, the number of buried marbles in the model control group increased significantly compared with the blank. Control group (P0.05).

  Conclusion: CFA-induced chronic inflammatory pain model rats can show various animal behavior changes related to anxiety-like emotions after 4 weeks, but no animal behavior changes related to depression-like emotions are observed within 5 weeks.
