　　Primary headache is a disease with a high disability rate, which often occurs in young and middle-aged people. Although the patient is suffering, it brings a heavy burden to the society, but the cause is still unclear. Establishing a reliable animal model of primary headache will help investigate the cause of primary headache and develop preventive and therapeutic drugs.

　　This article reviews the research progress of existing primary headache animal models, and how to evaluate them based on the principles and methods of model establishment, the scope of application, and the advantages and disadvantages of each model.
