Hyperlipidemia is a disease of lipid metabolism disorder. It is the main factor that causes cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (such as coronary heart disease, stroke and atherosclerosis). It endangers the health of all people and has become exposed to it. "The first murderer." At present, the development of new high-efficiency and low-toxic lipid-lowering Chinese herbal medicines is essential for improving hyperlipidemia and its secondary cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. However, due to the complexity and compatibility of Chinese herbal medicine ingredients, it is difficult to conduct detailed studies on the effective ingredients and specific lipid-lowering mechanisms based on a single lipid-lowering model. Therefore, establishing an ideal hyperlipidemia model is one of the key factors for screening traditional lipid-lowering drugs and studying the etiology of traditional hyperlipidemia.
This article reviews the most commonly used hypolipidemic models from cell models, mammalian models and zebrafish models, and discusses the common modeling methods of various models and their advantages and disadvantages. It studied the mechanism of hyperlipidemia, screened out highly effective lipid-lowering drugs, and provided reference and experimental basis.
