What is the pathological principle of spontaneous giant tumors in rats? -【Animal Modeling】

Objective: To study the pathological characteristics of spontaneous large tumors in Wistar and GK rats.

Method: Observe the growth and survival of spontaneous large tumors in Wistar and GK rats. The tumor was surgically removed and pathologically characterized by immunohistochemical staining.

Result: Two huge spontaneous tumors weighing 502 g and 119 g respectively, accounting for 64% and 24% of the rat's body weight, respectively. The tumor surface is completely covered, and the boundary with normal tissue is clearly visible. There are no tumors containing blood. Discover the blood vessels. Stem-like structure.

Conclusion: Large spontaneous tumors are benign fibrous tumors. It has no significant effect on survival, but the tumor is too large to affect the activity of the rat.
