What is the cynomolgus monkey spontaneous hypertension model? -【Animal Modeling】

Purpose: To establish baseline blood pressure of cynomolgus monkeys of different ages.

Method: Using the American Beckman-CX4 automatic biochemical analyzer and the wrist electronic blood pressure monitor of Beijing Matsushita Electric Co., Ltd., the blood pressure and blood lipid index of 521 cyno monkeys were detected, and the measurement results were statistically tested.

Result: After statistical analysis, there are significant differences in blood pressure values of cynomolgus monkeys of different ages. The blood pressure level of cynomolgus monkeys in the elderly is higher than that of other age groups, which is the incidence of hypertension in cynomolgus monkeys. Monkeys in the elderly group are taller than monkeys in other age groups. In the case of normal blood pressure, the body mass index (BMI) of the cynomolgus monkeys in the blood pressure group was higher than that of the cynomolgus monkeys of the same age group. The high-fat cynomolgus macaques in the elderly group were higher than other age groups. Logistic regression analysis showed that the predictive power of age, body mass index and hyperlipidemia in predicting disease risk in the hypertension group was 1.435, 1.218 and 2.337 times that of the hypertension group, respectively.

Conclusion: First, the blood pressure standards for cynomolgus monkeys of different ages were established. Age, body mass index and hyperlipidemia are risk factors for spontaneous hypertension in cynomolgus monkeys. The measurement of basal blood pressure provides a basis for screening spontaneous hypertension models of cynomolgus monkeys and related research.
