【Animal Modeling】-Why do we need to establish a model of poultry hyperuricemia?

Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a metabolic disease caused by abnormal purine metabolism associated with gout, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and metabolic syndrome. Currently, the most commonly used model animals are rodents and poultry. Since the metabolic pathway of purine in poultry is similar to that of human, its research value is becoming more and more important. This article retrieved relevant literature from 1986 to 2017, reviewed the etiology and inducements of poultry hyperuricemia, and provided reference materials for the research on the pathogenesis of hyperuricemia and the screening of uric acid-lowering drugs.
