【Animal Modeling】-Why establish an induced animal model of rotator cuff tendon injury?

Rotator cuff tendon injury is the main cause of acute and chronic shoulder pain and limited range of motion. Acute injuries and full-thickness lacerations usually require prompt surgical intervention. Clinically, the difficulty of RC injury repair lies in the reconstruction of the bone-tendon interface. Many animal models of surgical traumatic rotating cuff injuries have been established, but there is a lack of suitable animal models and accurate treatment methods.

This article summarizes the methods and scope of establishing RC tendon injury animal models at home and abroad, and discusses the selection and function evaluation methods of animal models, which provides a theoretical basis for RC basic scientific research.
