【Animal Modeling】-How to establish a hyperlipidemia cynomolgus monkey model?

Objective: To establish a hyperlipidemia model in cynomolgus monkeys.

Method: Adopt a high-fat diet to induce cynomolgus monkeys. Serum total cholesterol (TC), high-density lipoprotein (HDL), low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and triglycerides were 4, 8, 12, and 18 months, respectively. Analyze the blood lipid (TC) index and its changing trend.

Result: After 4 months of high-fat diet in the model group, there were significant differences in TC, HDL, and LDL compared with before the experiment (Pu003c0.01). Eight months after a high-fat diet, TC increased significantly. Compared with before the experiment, the difference is very significant (Pu003c0.01); TC, HDL, LDL, TC of the high-fat diet group after modeling are higher than the control group compared with the normal control group, the difference is very large and significant (Pu003c0. 01).

Conclusion In this experiment, the TC, HDL, LDL, and TC of the model group showed an upward trend, especially TC and LDL were significantly higher than the normal reference value of cynomolgus monkeys, and the model group cynomolgus monkeys had high cholesterol. This indicates. The characteristics of low-density lipoproteinemia first established an animal model of hyperlipidemia in cynomolgus monkeys.
