How to use animal modeling technology to study STZ to prepare diabetic rat models?

Diabetes (DM) has become a worldwide epidemic, and the incidence is increasing year by year. In order to further study the causes of DM and formulate more effective prevention and treatment programs, researchers need a stable and reproducible animal model similar to human diseases. Streptozotocin (STZ) has been used to induce DM for half a century and is currently the most widely used animal inducer of DM in basic research.

In this article, we will briefly review the key influencing factors in the preparation of DM rat model STZ, and provide some reference materials for STZ-induced DM rat preparation, and summarize your experience.
