[Animal Modeling]-How to study spontaneous hypertension and disease risk in cynomolgus monkeys?

Objective: To establish a reference value of blood pressure for cynomolgus monkeys of various ages.

Method: Using the American Beckman-CX4 automatic biochemical analyzer and Beijing Matsushita Electric Co., Ltd. wrist electronic blood pressure monitor, the blood pressure and blood lipid index of 521 cynomolgus monkeys were detected, and the measurement results were statistically tested. we. ..

Result: After statistical analysis, the blood pressure values of cynomolgus monkeys of different ages are significantly different. The blood pressure level of cynomolgus monkeys in the elderly group is higher than that of other age groups, which is the incidence of hypertension in cynomolgus monkeys. The monkeys in the old age group are higher than the monkeys in other age groups. The body mass index (BMI) of the cynomolgus monkeys in the blood pressure group was higher than that of the normal blood pressure cynomolgus monkeys of the same age; the incidence of hypertension in the high-fat cynomolgus monkeys in the elderly group was higher than that of other age groups. Logistic regression analysis showed that the age, body mass index and high of the hypertension group The ability of lipemia to predict disease risk was 1.435, 1.218 and 2.337 times that of the hypertension group, respectively.

Conclusion: First, the blood pressure reference value of cynomolgus monkeys of various ages was established. Age, body mass index and hyperlipidemia are risk factors for spontaneous hypertension in cynomolgus monkeys. The measurement of basal blood pressure provides a basis for screening and related research on spontaneous hypertension models in cynomolgus monkeys.
