【Animal Modeling】-Gene Analysis of Rabbit Pasteurella multocida

Objective To study the genotyping of the isolated strains of Pasteurella multocida isolated from ordinary New Zealand rabbits in laboratory animal facilities.

Methods From 2000 to 2018, 14 rabbit-derived Pasteurella multocida strains were obtained based on isolation, culture and biochemical identification, and the capsular multiple PCR method and multilocus sequence typing method were used to identify the capsular serotype and genotype. .

Results Capsular multiple PCR typing results showed that the rabbit-derived Pasteurella multocida had capsular serotype A, accounting for 71.4% (10/14), and type B accounting for 28.6% (4/14). ), the multi-site sequence typing is divided into 6 ST types: ST12, ST35, ST72, ST73, ST76 and ST77, and new ST76 and ST77 types have been discovered for the first time.

Conclusion There are complex and diverse genotyping of rabbit-derived Pasteurella multocida. The main capsular serotype is type A, which is related to respiratory diseases. Quality control should be done in the process of production and breeding.
