【Animal Modeling】-Preliminary Study on the Tolerance of Naked Mole Heart to 60Co γ-ray Radiation

OBJECTIVE: To observe and analyze the changes of Hadakadebanezumi's heart morphology and tissue biochemical indexes after 60Co gamma radiation, and to preliminary study the characteristics of Hadakadebanezumi's heart to 60Co gamma radiation.

Method: The naked mole rat was irradiated with 10Gy60Co gamma rays once, and the naked mole rat's heart was collected on the 7th and 14th day after the irradiation, and paraffin sections were prepared. After HE staining, observe the microstructure of the heart. Optical microscope; use animal tissue biochemical detection kit to detect malondialdehyde (MDA), total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC), glutathione (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) indicators in heart tissue .

Result: After irradiation of naked mole rat's heart tissue, there was no obvious atrophy, edema, necrosis or fibrosis in microscopic examination. Biochemical studies have shown that the content of MDA in heart tissue increased significantly after irradiation (Pu003c0.01), and the content of T-AOC, GSH, and GSSG all showed a time-dependent decrease. u003c0.05).

Conclusion: The naked mole rat heart has certain resistance to 60Co γ-rays, but the specific resistance mechanism is still unclear.
