【Animal Modeling】-Establishment of long-term depression mouse model and observation of behavioral and neuropathological characteristics

Objective: To establish a new type of long-term depression model mouse and compare the advantages and disadvantages of this mouse with the general depression mouse model.

Method: Use the separation of premature mothers and infants after weaning and continuous chronic stress to construct LTD mice, and compare them with chronic unpredictable wild stress (CUMS) and early life stress model (ELS) mice. Changes in hippocampal neurons in eGFP transgenic LTD and control mice compared to changes in depression-like behavior.

Result: Compared with CUMS and ELS mice, LTD mice showed long-term stable behavioral inhibition. Tissue sections showed degeneration in the CA1 and CA3 regions of the hippocampus of LTD mice.

Conclusion: We have successfully built an LTD mouse. This model mouse can cause long-term depression-like behaviors and exhibit long-term psychological stress. This is a model mouse suitable for simulating long-term depression.
