OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of Naoshuantong Capsules on blood lipid levels in atherosclerotic mice, and to explore the mechanism of Naoshuantong Capsules in treating stroke.
Method: 6-week-old male ApoE-/- mice were given a high-fat diet to establish an atherosclerosis model. After successful modeling, they were randomly divided into model group, Naoshuantong Capsule low-dose group, and Naoshuantong Capsule high-dose group. -Dose group group. The low-dose group was given Zhishui Antong capsule 0.5g/kg body weight, the high-dose group was given Zhishui Antong capsule 1.0g/kg body weight, and the control group was given the same amount of distilled water. After 12 weeks of continuous administration, blood was collected from the abdominal aorta and the serum was separated. Enzyme binding colorimetry to determine the serum total cholesterol (total cholesterol, TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, HDL-C) levels.
Result: Compared with the model group, the serum TC, TG, LDL-C content of the Naoshuantong capsule low-dose group and the high-dose group were significantly reduced, and the HDL-C content was significantly reduced, but there was no effect on the amount.
Conclusion: Naoshuantong Capsules can regulate blood lipid levels, and the treatment mechanism of stroke may be related to this method.
