【Animal Modeling】-rat acute myocardial infarction model

Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is one of the diseases with the highest fatality rate in the world. Inducing the regeneration of damaged cardiomyocytes has become an important clinical goal for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction, and standardized animal models are the basis for the study of cardiomyocyte regenerative medicine. Because the rat acute myocardial infarction model has a certain similarity with the pathophysiological process of clinical AMI, the model has a long survival time, low variability, high reproducibility, good relative stability, reasonable price, and easy feeding. A good source of animal models for model preparation and research. Although the rat model has many of the above advantages, and many scientific researchers have done a lot of research and discussion on the model method, the following problems still exist in the actual production process: the individual difference of the rat itself is obvious, and the operation process The phenomenon of intolerance; the level of the surgeon is uneven, and there are differences in the handling process of the rat, which correspondingly increases the preparation time, resulting in an increase in the energy and physical consumption of the surgeon, and it is difficult to ensure the consistency and integrity of the modeling operation . The above factors will cause the survival rate of rats and the success rate of modeling to decrease. Therefore, it is still very challenging and difficult to study the mechanism of cardiovascular events and cardiomyocyte regenerative medicine. Based on the summary of the establishment of rat AMI models and the research and discussion of key links in the preparation process in recent years, this article provides a practical and credible improvement plan for the preparation of standardized AMI rat models, and improves the survival rate and success rate of the model. Provide a reference for reducing the difficulty of the preparation process.
