Objective To establish a method for in vitro detection of acute eye irritation of disinfection products using porcine cornea.
Method Two positive substances of ethanol and imidazole were used as quality control standards, and the in vitro test conditions were explored on the porcine cornea system.
The results were verified by two disinfectants of liquid and solid. Under the conditions of ethanol exposure for 10 min, incubation for 80 min, and imidazole exposure for 3 h, and incubation for 70 min, the in vitro irritation scores of the porcine cornea were measured in terms of bovine corneal opacity and permeability (bovine corneal opacity). and permeability, BCOP) test within the corresponding positive standard range, the test system is established.
Conclusion Using pig eyes instead of bull eyes has initially established a disinfectant acute eye irritation test method, which can provide a reference for the safety testing of disinfection products.
