Purpose To carry out proficiency testing activities in 2017 to evaluate the testing capabilities of domestic laboratory animal testing laboratories for Bordetella bronchis.
Methods According to the relevant documents of CNAS, China Food and Drug Control Institute, as the proficiency testing provider, prepared comparison samples containing Bordetella bronchis, Pasteurella aerogenes and Escherichia coli as interfering bacteria, and provided them to participating laboratories. Feedback test results and reports in the eye when specified.
Results The average bacterial content of the three samples prepared is greater than 1x108CFU/mL, and the accelerated stability time at 37°C is not less than 20d, which meets the comparison requirements. A total of 25 experimental animal testing laboratories in 18 provinces and cities across the country participated, and they all responded to the results and reports on time, with a satisfaction rate of 88%.
Conclusion This proficiency test has laid the foundation for the further development of the experimental animal respiratory tract bacterial comparison project. Most participating laboratories have consistent and reliable testing capabilities for Bordetella bronchis.
