Purpose: By comparing the effects of three conventional animal anesthetics on the ECG of C57BL/6 mice, explore the anesthetics that have less interference on the ECG of mice.
Method: Divide mice into 3 groups and inject 20% ethyl carbamate, 1% sodium pentobarbital, and 2.5% chloral hydrate into the abdominal cavity. After complete anesthesia, connect the mice to the ECG scanner of the upper limb leads. Perform continuous 1h ECG recording.
Results: With the prolonged administration time (0-40min), 20% ethyl carbamate had no significant effect on the various indicators of the mouse ECG; 1% sodium pentobarbital can cause the mouse heart rate to decrease, PR interval, QRS wave The width is significantly extended; 2.5% chloral hydrate reduces the heart rate of mice and prolongs the PR interval, which stabilizes after 20 minutes.
Conclusion: 20% ethyl carbamate has the least effect on the ECG indicators of C57BL/6 mice. 2.5% chloral hydrate is suitable for corresponding scientific research 20 minutes after anesthesia.
