[Animal Modeling]-Analysis of Physiological and Biochemical Characteristics of SPF Large White Pigs and Landrace Pigs

Purpose: To study and analyze the reproductive physiology and blood physiological and biochemical characteristics of SPF Large White and Landrace pigs.

Method: Routine methods are used to determine 10 reproductive physiological indexes, 19 blood physiology and 18 blood biochemical indexes of SPF large white pigs and Landrace pigs, and statistically analyze the differences of each index among different groups, different ages, and different sexes.

Results: There was no significant difference in the reproductive physiological indexes and most of the blood physiological and biochemical indexes of SPF large white pigs and Landrace pigs (P> 0.05). Some indexes such as blood physiological indexes GRAN, HGB, RDW, PLT, PCT, blood biochemical indexes ALKP, CHOL, TBIL and BUN differed significantly among breeds, different ages and different sexes (P<0.05), but their deviations from the normal value range were small.

Conclusion: SPF large white pigs and Landrace pigs are basically stable in terms of reproductive physiology and blood physiology and biochemistry. Compared with other experimental miniature pigs, this study is based on standardized feeding, construction of animal models, and genetic quality of closed herd pigs. The evaluation provides important basic data.
