【Animal Modeling】-Quick operation skills and experience of tail vein injection in rats in awake state

Objective: To introduce the rapid operation skills and experience of tail vein injection in rats in awake state, and to improve the success rate of operation.

Method: The rat was fixed by the self-made rat restraint clothes combined with the light pressing of the operator. One person assisted the fixation, the other was punctured, and the other was injected with medicine. During the injection, the damage to the tail and the stress to the rat were minimized. Strictly stipulate the needle entry point and the number of punctures, limit the one-time maximum dose and injection speed, and adopt methods such as separating the needle and the injection site to avoid drug contamination and waste.

Result: This method is fast, reliable, stable, reproducible, and highly compatible with animals.

Conclusion: This method avoids the waste and pollution of drugs. This method is especially recommended for the experiments of expensive drugs in the tail vein.
