【Animal Modeling】-Discussion on the feasibility of transjugular liver biopsy in miniature pigs

Purpose: To explore the feasibility and safety of transjugular liver biopsy (TJLB) with the LBS 200 intrahepatic biopsy needle set from Cook, USA.

Method: TJLB biopsy was performed on 5 miniature pigs using imaging technology, the puncture path was closely observed during the operation, and liver tissue biopsy samples were collected.

Result: Five miniature pigs underwent TJLB operation successfully collected liver tissue biopsy samples without related complications, and enough liver tissue was obtained for relevant pathological analysis.

Conclusion: It is safe and feasible to use Cook's LBS 200 intrahepatic biopsy needle set to perform TJLB in miniature pigs, and provide technical support for further clinical applications.
