Purpose: Through the experimental mouse reovirus type III antibody testing capability verification program, to understand the testing capabilities of experimental animal testing institutions and improve the quality testing level of experimental animals.
Method: According to the proficiency testing program approved by CNAS, the serum is calibrated and passed the stability and uniformity test as a proficiency testing sample. Use random numbers, send samples to participating units, and attach work instructions. Submit the inspection report and copy of the original record within the specified time limit. If the result is consistent with the sample pre-inspection result, it will be considered as a satisfactory result, and if the result is inconsistent or failing to submit the result, it will be considered as an unsatisfactory result.
Result: A total of 27 laboratory animal testing institutions from 17 provinces and cities signed up for this proficiency testing project. All 27 testing institutions submitted satisfactory results, accounting for 100% of the total participating institutions. There are 26 testing institutions using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method, and 1 testing institution using the immunofluorescence assay (IFA) method.
Conclusion: The laboratory animal quality inspection agency has a high ability to detect reovirus type III antibodies in experimental mice, and the implementation of the proficiency testing program can reflect the laboratory's detection level.
