[Animal modeling]-Expression of BDNF, trkB, ChAT mRNA and protein in the brain of adult Chinese-Burmese tree shrews

Objective: To observe the expression of BDNF, trkB, ChAT mRNA and protein in the brain of adult Chinese-Burmese tree shrews.

Method: Use q-PCR and Western blotting to detect the expression of BDNF, trkB, ChAT mRNA and protein in the hippocampus, basal nucleus and cortex of adult Chinese-Burmese tree shrews.

Results: Adult tree shrew brain BDNF mRNA was the highest in the hippocampus, which was significantly different from the basal nucleus and cortex (P<0.01); trkB mRNA was the lowest in the hippocampus and the frontal cortex was the highest, with significant differences between the two (P<0.05); chat="" p="">0.05). Adult tree shrew brain BDNF protein expression is highest in the basal nucleus, which is significantly different from hippocampus or cortex (P<0.01); there="" is="" no="" significant="" difference="" in="" trkb="" and="" chat="" protein="" expression="" three="" parts="" of="" tree="" shrew="" brain="" p="">0.05). Conclusion The expression of ChAT mRNA in the hippocampus, basal nucleus and cortex of adult tree shrews is consistent with the protein expression; while the expression of BDNF and trkB mRNA does not correspond to the protein expression. It is speculated that BDNF/trkB in the brain of tree shrews has a more complex transcriptional level regulation mode than ChAT, and tree shrews may be a good animal for studying the influence mechanism of BDNF/trkB gene expression.
