Objective To systematically evaluate the effect of placental differentially expressed proteins on the growth and development of the placenta in a rat model of gestational diabetes (GDM).
Methods Computer search of PubMed, Web of Science, EMBase, Cochrane Library, Ovid/LWW, Scopus, CNKI, Wanfang, Weipu and China Biomedical Literature Database, manual search of relevant references, search time self-built database as of September 2020 On 30th, the included literature was selected by two researchers independently for literature screening, data extraction, quality evaluation and result analysis.
Results A total of 16 articles were included; it was shown that: (1) Placental differentially expressed proteins affect the proliferation and apoptosis of placental trophoblast cells in GDM rats, interfere with placental angiogenesis, increase vascular permeability, enhance placental oxidative stress and inflammation, and cause GDM Rat placenta growth and development are abnormal; (2) Placental differentially expressed proteins are mainly located in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of sponge trophoblasts, labyrinthine trophoblasts, giant cells and fetal endothelial cells in the placenta of GDM rats; (3) The placenta of GDM rats has pathological changes such as increased trophoblast area, decreased blood vessel density and tissue structure disorder.
Conclusion Differential expression of placental protein may change the structure and function of the placenta to cause abnormal placental growth and development in GDM rats, thereby promoting or aggravating the occurrence of GDM and its complications, but due to the rigorous experimental design and internal authenticity of the included studies Certain limitations still need to be further verified by a large number of high-quality studies.
