  (2) Model characteristics The degree of seizures of animals can be divided into 6 levels: level 0, no seizures, normal activity; level 1, nose hair and eyelid twitching, ears on the back, movement stopped; level 2, animal body lying down, forelimbs Mild clonus, sometimes showing generalized twitching; level 3, the animal squats up, assumes a kangaroo posture, has both forelimb clonics, and grasps the contact; level 4, generalized clonics, a tonic seizure, accompanied by unconscious movements; At grade 5, a few animals died of tonic convulsion. The whole episode lasted 40-50s. Design a dosing regimen according to the needs of the study, observe and compare the intensity of the animals' seizures.

  (3) Comparative medicine Mongolian gerbils are rodents belonging to the subfamily gerbils belonging to the genus gerbils, and are a multi-purpose laboratory animal. Good at jumping and standing upright, the natural epileptic seizure rate is as high as 20% to 30%. When selecting seizure-sensitive Mongolian gerbils for inbreeding and breeding, after several generations of inbreeding, a purebred hereditary epilepsy model can be obtained. The seizure rate can be as high as 95%. It starts at 2 months after birth, reaches a peak at about 3 months, and lasts for a lifetime. The mechanism of this kind of epilepsy is still unclear, because it is not yet known which gene has been mutated, which is mainly related to heredity.

  Since an incubation period of 3 to 5 days after a seizure can cause seizures during capture, it brings some trouble to the research work. These unfavorable conditions need to be considered when designing the experiment. It is best to make the drug into a solution for natural oral use, but the difference in the amount of water the animals drink will affect the correct judgment of the results.
