【Animal Modeling】-Anti-depressant effect of luteolin on chronic unpredictable mild stress mice

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of hyaluronan on antidepressant, and to preliminarily explore its possible mechanism of action.

Methods: The chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model of mice was used to evaluate the anhedonia of mice treated with hyaluronic acid by using sugar water preference test. The serum of mice was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay The content of corticosterone was detected by LC-MS/MS method to detect the content of various neurotransmitters in the cortex and hippocampus of mice.

RESULTS: Hyaluronic acid could reverse the decrease of sugar water preference index and the increase of serum corticosterone level caused by CUMS. Compared with the normal group, the contents of related neurotransmitters in the cortex and hippocampus of the model group were significantly changed, while The administration of xylin has a significant regulatory effect on related neurotransmitters in CUMS mice.

CONCLUSION: Loxylin may achieve antidepressant effects by reducing serum corticosterone levels and regulating neurotransmitters in the brain.
