OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of octachlorodibenzodioxins on the changes of gene expression profiles in the testis of male mice.
Methods: Twenty male CBL/6j mice were randomly divided into control group (corn oil), OCDD low-dose group (1.25×10-6 g/mL), medium-dose group (1.25×10-5 g/mL) and The high-dose group (1.25×10-4 g/mL) was given intragastric administration once a day, and the testis was collected after 30 days of continuous intragastric administration. The gene chip technology was used to compare the gene expression differences in the testis of male mice exposed to different concentrations of OCDD and the control group. .
Results: Compared with the control group, the low-dose group and the control group had a total of 1 133 differential genes, with 659 up-regulated and 474 down-regulated; the middle-dose group and the control group had 978 differential genes, with 487 up-regulated and 491 down-regulated; The number of differential genes between the dose group and the control group was 895, 424 were up-regulated and 471 were down-regulated.
Conclusion: Subchronic OCDD exposure affects the expression of testis-related genes in mice, suggesting that testis may be the target organ of OCDD toxicity.
