【Animal Modeling】-Determination and Comparison of Hematological Indexes of Cynomolgus Monkeys in Juvenile Experiments

OBJECTIVE: To determine the hematological indexes of 853 normal juvenile cynomolgus monkeys, and to establish the reference range of normal values of hematological indexes for each age group of juvenile experimental cynomolgus monkeys in Guangdong Province.

Methods: 273 cynomolgus monkeys (124 females and 149 males) aged 1-2 years (1≤x<2) and 307 cynomolgus monkeys (244 females) aged 2-3 years (2≤x<3) were randomly selected 273 cynomolgus monkeys (124 females and 149 males), 3 to 4 years old (3≤x<4), and 149 males were tested for their hematological indexes, and then divided into subgroups by gender for comparison.

RESULTS: The reference range of normal values of hematological indexes for each age group of cynomolgus monkeys in the juvenile experimental period was established; compared between male and female animals, among the blood routine indexes of 1-2 year old animals, there were significant differences in 7 indexes including PLT (P<0.05 or P<0.01); among the routine blood indexes of animals aged 2-3 years, five indicators including RDW-SD were significantly different (P<0.05 or P<0.01); among the routine blood indexes of animals aged 3-4 years, WBC There were significant differences in 11 indicators (P<0.05 or P<0.01); the rest were not statistically significant.

Conclusion: Juvenile cynomolgus monkeys are in the stage of growth and development, and their hematological indexes are quite different in different age groups, and the difference between different genders is obvious. This study provides the hematological background data of normal cynomolgus monkeys at different ages in juvenile period , which provides a reliable reference for its application in the field of biomedicine.
