OBJECTIVE: To conduct a preliminary investigation on the pathogenic infection of gerbils raised in ordinary environment, and to provide a basis for the formulation of local standards for pathogen detection of gerbils.
Methods: Referring to the detection methods of microbes and parasites in mice and rats, 16 bacteria, 11 viruses and 8 parasites were detected in 30 gerbils raised in ordinary environment.
RESULTS: Thirty gerbils raised in ordinary environment had lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, Sendai virus, mouse pneumonia virus, reovirus type Ⅲ, mouse encephalomyelitis virus, mycoplasma, Taizai pathogen, Helicobacter antibodies were detected, and the detection rates were 6.7%, 3.3%, 100.0%, 6.7%, 10.0%, 6.7%, 6.7%, and 56.7%, respectively, and the infection rate of Pasteurella pneumophila was 3.3%. , the infection rate of Staphylococcus aureus was 10.0%, the infection rate of Escherichia coli O115 a, C, K (B) was 6.7%, the infection rate of Tritrichomonas murine was 100.0%, and the infection rate of flagellates was 100.0%.
Conclusion: This study provides reference data for formulating the gerbil grading standard.
