【Animal modeling】-Microsatellite DNA analysis of the genetic status of 24 domestic inbred strains of mice

Objective: To analyze the genetic status of 24 domestic inbred mice using microsatellite loci.

Methods: Using 30 mouse microsatellite loci that were screened in the previous stage, which were rich in polymorphisms and alleles, and synthesized fluorescently labeled primers, the genomic DNA of inbred mice was amplified by PCR. Each inbred mouse strain was genotyped.

RESULTS: Among 24 inbred mouse strains, 16 strains had the same genotype at 30 loci within the strains. The same locus has polymorphism between different strains, which can be used to identify and distinguish different strains. There are polymorphisms in individual animals in the remaining strains.

Conclusion: The selected loci can be used for genetic quality detection and analysis of inbred mice, and preliminary strain detection and identification can be carried out.
