【Animal Modeling】-Differential Expression of IGF-1 Gene in Tibetan Miniature Pigs in Different Growth Stages and Different Tissues and Organs

OBJECTIVE: To determine the expression distribution of IGF-1 gene in Tibetan minipigs at different ages and in different tissues, so as to provide basic data for future research.

METHODS: Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technology was used to detect the expression changes of IGF-1 gene in different tissues and growth stages of Tibetan minipigs with GAPDH gene as internal reference.

Results: (1) The time-series study of IGF-1 gene expression showed that the expression of IGF-1 gene was the lowest at the age of 0, 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2 years old, and the highest expression was in the skin tissue at the age of 0, 0.25, and 0.5 years. The expression level of liver tissue was the highest at 0.1, 2, and 3 years old. (2) IGF-1 gene was expressed in 7 different tissues, and its expression abundance at the age of 0.25 years was from high to low: skin, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, heart and muscle. And the expression level in skin was the highest and significantly higher than that in other tissues (P<0.01). At the same time, in the expression of different ages, the expression of IGF-1 gene reached the peak value in all tissues at 0.25 years old.

Conclusion: The expression of IGF-1 gene in Tibetan minipigs exhibits obvious spatiotemporal specificity.
