【Animal Modeling】-Feasibility of Transjugular Liver Biopsy in Miniature Pigs

Objective: To investigate the feasibility and safety of transjugular liver biopsy (TJLB) using the LABS 200 intrahepatic biopsy needle set from Cook Company.

Methods: TJLB biopsy was performed on 5 minipigs using imaging technology, the puncture path was closely observed during the operation, and liver tissue biopsy samples were collected.

RESULTS: Biopsy samples of liver tissue were successfully collected from 5 minipigs undergoing TJLB operation, and there were no related complications, and enough liver tissue was obtained for related pathological analysis.

Conclusion: The use of Cook's LABS 200 intrahepatic biopsy needle set for TJLB in miniature pigs is safe and feasible, which provides technical support for further clinical applications.
