【Animal Modeling】-Effect of intrauterine injection of absolute ethanol on estrous cycle in mice

Objective: To investigate the effect of intrauterine injection of absolute ethanol on the estrous cycle of mice.

METHODS: Twenty mice with regular estrus were selected by vaginal exfoliated cell staining method, and anhydrous ethanol was injected into the uterus. The estrous cycle was measured every day in the first estrous cycle after surgery, and 10 mice were randomly selected in the second estrous cycle. Measured every 2 h to observe the degree of change in the estrous cycle.

RESULTS: After intrauterine injection of anhydrous ethanol, the overall estrous cycle of the experimental mice was significantly prolonged, and the estrous and pre-estrus periods were disturbed to varying degrees.

Conclusion: This experiment provides a certain experimental basis for the clinical use of anhydrous ethanol by observing the disorder of the estrous cycle in mice after anhydrous ethanol injures the uterus.
